Roti, salt served to students for mid-day meal in UP's Mirzapur
Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, Aug 22, The incident has come in light narrating the lapse of administration in providing mid-day meal to the students. Students are aimed to be provided 'nutritious meal' through mid-day meal.
On the contrary, students of an elementary school in UP's Mirzapur have seen intake 'roti' with salt in mid-day meal. The negligent teacher has been suspended.
Mirzapur District justice (DM) Anurag Patel said, Negligence happened at teacher and supervisor's level. The teacher has been suspended.
This is really a very very shameful thing, It shows how careless the Govt. and officers are.
After being intimated about it, district authorities called it 'a serious lapse' and have initiated an inquiry into the incident at Siyur Primary School in Hinauta village. A teacher has also been suspended.
A student Kajal said, "I had salt with roties today in my lunch. Sometimes, we are given vegetables with chappatis but today, we just got salt.
Some other children at school claimed they had not received any milk too during the meal.
The cook at the school (A Lady) claimed that she was provided just half a kilogram of potatoes to feed all the students in the school.
The elderly lady cook said, "I was provided half a kilogram of potatoes, salt and some spices to cook the meal for all the children in the school. I could cook only a few chappatis and had to serve them with salt."
Mirzapur District Magistrate (DM) blamed teachers for the mismanagement. He told,
"As per orders by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath the menu of mid-day meals across the district is fixed. The students are also given fruits and milk on some days. But these incidents happen due to the mistake of teachers and supervisory staff.
We have suspended the teacher responsible for this and an investigation has been launched in the matter. t is true that today the students got just plain chappatis and are being forced to eat them with salt because of lack of vegetables."
